Monday, June 29, 2015

Wow, June is almost done!  So much I didn't get accomplished, but much that I did.  I went into town this morning to pick up our mail and make a stop at the library.  I took a nap this afternoon, I think the weekend caught up with me.

Cori asked for my apple pie and apple bar recipe.  I'm not sure if she's made pie before, so hope she can figure it out.  Wish I were there to show her.

I'm going to explain further on some of the pictures that I shared yesterday.
The Apache women come from the White River area.  We did talk to some of them on Saturday, and asked if they knew Wayne Cole.  The first thing they said was he spoke Apache fluently!!  They also knew Morey.

The first workshop that I attended was by Pastor Michael Hartman, Latin America called "Let your light shine before others".  It was very informative (all of the workshops and missionary moments were) and he talked about using the internet for outreach.  Apparently smart phones are widely used, while laptops are not as widely available.  We have a latin website to reach out to all of our spanish speaking Christians.  Missionary work has surely come a long way by the grace of God!!  His picture is one of the first ones from yesterday.

Our first missionary speaker was Pastor Michael Vogel from St. Paul, Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Then our missionary administrators were introduced, Rev. Keith Free (home missions) and Rev. Larry Schlomer (world missions)

We also were introduced to the LWMS board of director officers.

I think that's all I'll say tonight.  We were asked not to share pictures or information on our missionaries and work in Pakistan as that would put them in danger.  How sad a statement!  I would just say that it is remarkable what they have accomplished and also what they have endured.

Richard and Debbie have listed their house for sale, so if you know of anyone in the area looking for a beautiful house in the country, pass on that information!  It's near Montello, WI (listed near Neshkoro, WI)

It was really hazy all day, they said it was from the fires in Canada.

Have a wonderful night, hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Sunday, June 28, 2015

Hi!  Long time no post!.  It's been a busy and awesome weekend!  We left early Thursday morning for Rapid City for the LWMS national convention.  Starting with the opening service on Thursday to the closing service on Sunday, it was just such an informative, enlightening time!  I promise I will post in more detail, but I'm just tired tonight.  So what I'm going to do is post some pictures tonight, and go in  more detail later this week.

The Apache women from Arizona, they come every year (since 1980) to sing for the convention!

The workshop explaining the Spanish language website and outreach through electronics.

The Minnkota circuit contigent.

And the St. Martin's group from that circuit!  I need to add more to that another night!  Orrin took the picture, and he'd never done it before.

Our table at the Saturday night banquet.

And some of the entertainment from Saturday night, the Hill City Slickers!

And more of those Slickers!

A skit presented by the current board.  (Pastor Shevey only brought one pair of pants!)

I will be posting more during the week, and explaining them better.  I'm sorry, some of them are fuzzy, I just used the phone, and didn't realize they didn't focus in better.

Luke was there with Trey and Zoe, so got to spend some time with them.  And I forgot to take any pictures of them!

And I'm done for tonight.  Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Good evening!  Just finished making a pan of apple bars to take along to Rapid City.  We're going to the national convention of the LWMS. We're leaving early tomorrow morning and will be gone through Sunday, so I will probably not be posting until Monday.  Unless I use Wendy's 'puter and send a few lines.

We were up early this morning to go to Watertown for Orrin's eye appointment.  We stopped at Vicky's to drop Teddy off for a grooming, I was not going to travel with a stinky dog!!  Orrin's appointment went well, not much change.  The doctor said he should keep his eyes lubricated and gave him some drops to start using.

We stopped for a few things at HyVee, they had some good sales, and it was senior discount day!!  I did get 4# of strawberries to clean and bring along.  I know the boys like them.

After that we stopped at Culver's for lunch.  They had Andes Mint Avalanche for FOD, that's Orrin's favorite.  We had also gotten some coupons again, so we shared a value basket of chicken strips and each had a sundae, with a BOGO coupon.  :)  We saw the cutest thing while we were eating.  A little guy, maybe 3 or 4, come in with his mom.  And he was a cowboy!!  From his cowboy hat, to his neck scarf, to his pistol and holster, and right down to his boots and spurs!!  Couldn't help but smile at that.  There is a rodeo happening at Clear Lake, maybe he came from that?  Or maybe he's just a real little cowboy!  I think the spurs were what got us.  LOL That and the swagger.  :)

Then home.  Orrin mowed lawn and I did some packing, baking, etc.  Eileen will be here at 6:30 so we can get an early start.  Opening service is at 7, and she's singing in the choir so needed to be there early for practice.

We had sweet corn for supper, it was okay, but not real tasty.  I cleaned the strawberries, so they are ready to go. And now I just have a few dishes to do and then off to get some sleep!

Hugs from Orrin, Linda and Teddy.

Monday, June 22, 2015

Good evening!  We woke up to a lot of rain overnight, and some wind, but no damage.  Just a few of the usual tree branches.  My gauge says 1.8", Orrin said 1.5".  I think his was closer to actual.  Not sure why there's always a difference.

I did some cleaning up this morning, and then stamped 22 images from 2 different stamps for a stamp swap that I'm involved in.  Should be fun.  We exchange the images and then color as we wish.  I like the new watercolor marker/brushes that I have, but might try some alcohol markers, too.  I'll share when I get them done.

Just a couple of the cute stamps I got last week.

Then Ted and I had to fill the bird feeders.  I dropped the hummingbird feeder and broke it, so luckily, I had another one I hadn't used yet, so filled that.  The birds did clean up the ground under the feeder pretty well, as I hadn't filled it for a couple days.  So they did their "housekeeping".

Teddy's bunny hopped out from under the bay window, and just sat there east of the peonies, watching us.  And for some reason, Ted didn't see him!!  Or it would have been a merry chase.

I ran into town, needed to do a few things at the credit union and then I stopped at the library.  The other street is usable now, so I could get a little closer, just hard to find a parking spot back there.

I got one of the pizzas we picked up yesterday out and that was our supper.  I think we'll be eating on that for the rest of the week!  We got family size, so half of it was left.

And that's about it, other than spending too much time on the computer.  :(  Orrin is already relaxing (asleep) in the magic chair, and I'm thinking of heading there.

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Sunday, June 21, 2015 Jordan Spieth day!!

Good evening!  For you non golfers, Jordan Spieth just won the U.S. Open, the youngest since 1923.  He won the Masters this spring, he really is a remarkable young man and a good role model for young people.  We watched quite a bit of the tournament, especially the last part.  I know many of you don't consider golf an exciting sport, but this one really was!

We made it to early church and bible study, and then I took Orrin to Applebee's for Father's Day lunch.  Well, actually I used a gift card that we got for Christmas, but hey!

We didn't have any shopping to do today, (for a change) so headed home from there.  Well, we did stop at Papa Murphy's again for their special deal.  We got 3 family size pizzas for $10 each!  2 for the freezer.  On the way home, Orrin had a couple phone calls wishing him Happy Father's Day.  Thanks, Jeremy and Wendy and family.

We didn't do much this afternoon, we both had a nap and then just odds and ends.  We're supposed to be getting storms tonight, I think Cori and Josh had some already in ND.

Today I read that a 50/50 mixture of Lysol and water sprayed on oneself is supposed to ward off flies.  Hmm, Listerine for mosquitoes and Lysol for flies, we will smell like a hospital cleaning crew!  Wonder if that will really work?  Alan?

And that's about it for today.  Have a great evening,

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Saturday, June 20, 2015 Barn Party Day!!

So sorry, it's been 3 days since my last post! Cori came late Wednesday night and we've just been enjoying time with her and the kids.  Riley was a little cranky on Thursday, I think she was just tired from the day before.  We still enjoyed her though, and her smiles.  Isaiah is getting so grown up! We visited Opa in the shop and went out on the swing set.  Isaiah can really swing high!

Friday morning I made pancakes (we had gone into town the night before to get buttermilk, since I'd forgotten to get some earlier). We just visited and played with the kiddoes most of the day.  We left early for town for supper at P.K.'s, Cori wanted to take Opa for his birthday/father's day.  Then we went to the movie "Inside Out".  It was a pixar movie and it was good, just very different.  I would recommend it, it was good for adults too, actually maybe a bit better for adults.

This morning we just enjoyed playing with the kids again, we don't get that opportunity very often.  I set the play cupboard home with them, it was time for a new family to enjoy it.  It's a cupboard that Grandpa Cole had made for each of the girls when they were little, so kind of special.  Isaiah was thrilled that they could have it.  If Riley could express herself better, I'm sure she will be thrilled, too!

Then after everyone was cleaned up and packed up, we left for Johnson, for Eugene's barn party!  It was great seeing all the relatives.  Not all Vogt relatives, but lots of Fuhrmans.  The girls did a wonderful job with setting it all up, and Bill Fuhrman helped a lot with bringing a tent, and his son brought out a beer truck!  Have you ever seen a truck with spigots?

This was Chris, John Rosenow and Jamie Rosenow with Isaiah in the corner.

And the barn!
and some of the older folks!
These were the 5 older generation cousins, Martin Fuhrman, Ruth Zimmerman, Donald Fuhrman, Eugene Fuhrman and Norma Damerow.  Great to see them all!

And this was the antique sled to be drawn by horses, that Eugene would bring out in the summer and Jane always put flowers in it.  Norma's daughter, Roxanne was kind enough to see that the flowers were put in.

They did take a group picture, too, but I didn't get that.  Al and Richard took some, so hopefully they will share.  My cousins Harvey Vogt and Richard (George) Vogt also came, was so nice to see them.

And I heard from Cori (she left about 2:30) that she got home okay. They had some wind damage, Bismarck had some pretty high winds and flooding while she was gone.  Their front door had some damage, and their grill was destroyed and a back window, I guess.  We had rain and thunderstorms last night too but no damage.  We got about .6" which was nice to see, that will perk things up.

Al and Lisa and the boys came over for the festivities too.  The boys and Isaiah had a good time together and can't wait for the lake!

I think I covered everything pretty well, and it's time to say good night.  Things will go back to normal, but we sure enjoyed having the excitement.

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Good evening!  It continues to be cool and feels like it should rain.  We got a tenth yesterday, wish it would have been more.  It rained quite heavy over by Clear Lake.

I cleaned the strawberries and the melons yesterday morning, and made a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  I had Treadlers in the afternoon, so took a few cookies and melons with me.  I finally found the quilt I had been working on last year, so took that along.  I had rushed with it last year, so I unpinned, reset the backing, added some to the sides and repinned.  I started tying it, and got about 2/3 of it done before we stopped to eat.  We always eat well, pot luck seems to work out that way.  Found out that building across from the co-op was going to be another Dollar General.  They sure are putting a lot of those up, one in Canby, Dawson, Milbank and Madison, too.  We had gone in the one in Ortonville, and were just not that impressed.  But it would be a gain for these small towns, I suppose, people may stay and shop in town.

This morning I started cleaning out the office/computer area.  I cleaned out the file drawers and threw away a ton of stuff.  Some of it was pretty old.  Found out that Teddy will be 10 in August!  I'm about half way done with this project.  I filled two large boxes with trash.  :)  Good feeling.  But then I sat down after lunch and slept for an hour!!  I don't know why I do that, maybe it's my meds.

We got the new control for Orrin's side of the bed and I think we worked for at least an hour getting that synced with the bed.  It should be good to go now.

I cleaned out the north bedroom, I had stacked all the things from the sewing room in there.  Several things will go to GSI again.  There are still boxes in the hall, but it's a start!  Still haven't found my sewing machine hoops.

We are sitting up waiting for our ND people, they should be here any minute.  Yeaaa!!

Hugs, Orrin, Linda, Teddy and soon Cori, Isaiah and Riley

Monday, June 15, 2015

Another warm day.  I sure wish we would get a little moisture.  I really didn't want to spend much time outside, it was too hot.

The Buick was fixed, so I took Orrin into town to pick it up.  I stopped at Jim's to pick up milk and a few other things.  Straightened out the pile on the table, why do so many things always get dumped there?

I didn't sleep very well last night, I think I had about 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep.  I hate when that happens.  Then, of course, I ended up taking a nap this afternoon, I hate when that happens, too.  Now I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight.  When I did go to bed, I couldn't get to sleep again, Orrin was snoring on one side and Teddy was dreaming/whimpering by my feet.  Just too noisy!  LOL

Cori called, and said they would be coming Wednesday night, then going up to Graceville for the barn party and then back to Bismarck from there.  It's Father's Day on Sunday.  Big barn party at the Furhman's on Saturday!!

I got Jer and Laura's card in the mail today, just a few days late!  I thought we would be seeing them over the weekend, but it just didn't work out for them.

And that's about it again!  Have a great evening, Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy.

Sunday, June 14, 2015 Happy Flag Day!

Good evening! The weather has been a little strange today. When we were having dinner in Watertown, it got real dark, and tried to rain.  Didn't get much then, but I think they had more later. Then it got really hot this afternoon, and now it just looks stormy out there.  Who knows what we'll get tonight, though most of the weather has been going around us.

We were up for early service and then bible study.  We've started on 2nd Peter, and Al really gets into the meat of the study.  After that, we all decided to have lunch at Dairy Queen.  That's always good, their $5 lunch is a pretty good value.  We had some things to pick up at Menard's, and then decided we really didn't need groceries.  We did stop at Papa Murphy's, they had a special thru tomorrow ~ any large pizza for $10 and you could get up to 3.  So we did.  We had one for supper and put the other two in the freezer.  I know they aren't as good after freezing, but still good, and the price was right!

We did some catching up on our DVR'd shows,  and that's about as exciting as it got!  It was too warm out to do much outside.

Congratulations to Blake Perkins, he is on his way to Florida to sign his contract and begin his baseball career!

I hope you all had a wonderful Sonday, check back tomorrow!

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Saturday, June 13, 2015

I'm just listening to an audio interview on radio with Blake Perkins from AZ.  It's a very exciting time for him. Thanks to Carisa Cole Sharrett for sharing that.

Yesterday I headed to Watertown again for this month's embroidery class.  We did a very pretty trivet, I think I'll do some of those for the bazaar this fall.  If I ever find my hoops!!  We had a good time, there are some very nice ladies there.  I also think I will have plans to do a 2 day seminar in November along with one of the ladies there that is from Clear Lake.

Hmm, my autocorrect is telling me that the paragraph above is incorrect.  Oh, well, I type the way I think, I guess.

Teddy and I did short walks yesterday and today.  The weather seemed kind of iffy today, it never rained, but felt like it could.  I washed a few loads of laundry and read a book and that was about it!

We're looking forward to the Fuhrman barn party next Saturday, it should be a fun time.

And that's about it.  My dear husband has been sleeping in his magic chair for the last few hours.  Teddy is outside barking at something.  He's such a good guard dog!

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Thursday, June 11, 2015 ~ Jeremy and Laura's 10th Anniversary and the day after Orrin's birthday!

Good evening! We met Alan, Lisa and the boys in Granite Falls for supper last night, and by the time we got home I was too tired to post, so here it is!  The occasion was Orrin's birthday, and it was so nice to see them, and have a visit.  Nothing very exciting otherwise, yesterday just another normal day.

This morning it was kind of cool.  Teddy and I did take a walk, there are huge gravel trucks going by often, so every once in a while we would almost get blown off the road by the backdraft!  I really need to increase the distance we go each day, to get back to what we were doing last summer.

I had read a recipe for cleaning bathtubs, so decided to try it today.  It's equal parts of cleaning vinegar (yes, there is such a thing, not regular vinegar but cleaning vinegar), heat the vinegar, add the blue (it has to be blue) dawn dishwashing soap, in spray bottle, shake well and spray in the tub.  Let set for an hour, and then rinse all the dirt away!  Well,it is a good cleaning solution, but not quite as easy as just rinsing away. I did use my sponge (I have a long handled one for just such use) to loosen the dirt, but didn't have to scrub.  So I would recommend it.
I had also read a tip on using listerine to spray around deck or patio to keep mosquitoes away.  Well, Alan informed me that he checked Snopes, and that was not true.  Shucks!  Well, I guess everything you read online is not necessarily true.  :(

Tonight I had Ladies Bible Study, which for this summer we were meeting at Caribou Coffee Shop.  That was at 7:00.  I headed out, and on the way Kathy called and said her and her mother would be going too.  Well, I had already passed her turnoff, but was just at Tunerville, so she said they would meet me there.  I rode with them the rest of the way to Watertown.  There were 15 ladies tonight, which was a larger group than we'd had for the regular meetings. It was pleasant there, but not really great for that type of meeting.  It was noisier than you would expect, between the air conditioner and their coffee brewer thing.  I'm wondering if there wouldn't be a better choice?  Anyway, the important thing was the bible study, which was very enjoyable.  Everyone commented and exchanged thoughts, it just went well.  Several ladies that didn't make the morning meetings were able to come, so another opportunity for meeting and sharing God's love.  We'll only be meeting about once a month in the summer.

I put Teddy out when I got home, and came on here.  When I went out to get him in, he had his lead so wrapped around the patio set that I couldn't get it loose in the dark, so will have to do it in the morning.  Just let him in, though he was a little slow coming in, there was something out there he was interested in.

Oh, when we stopped at Tunerville on the way home, the little dog that the people had there was outside wallowing (yep, that was what it was) in the rain puddles.  He was going to be a mess, poor thing.

Hope your day was wonderful, Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Boy, it really got hot today!!  Up to 92 on my car thermometer.  I got the kitchen cleaned up this morning and destashed a bunch of old mail.  Gonna keep at that until this room is cleaned out, I have other things in mind for it!!

I went over to Montevideo for my hair and nail therapy.  That always feels good!  I told Orrin I'd pick up Chinese for supper.  I stopped at the Monte library before my appointment and picked up some more reading material, I wouldn't dare run out, you know!

I  had a pedicure too, today, it felt so good!  She always rubs out the rough spots and I have to hang on to the chair, because it tickles so much on the bottom of my foot!  But now they're all pretty again!  My hair is pretty short this time, but we are slowly getting all the color cut off.  Dori thinks it will be pure white, and I'm sure it will be.

After, I stopped at WalMart to pick up a few things for recipes I saw on facebook.  One was for a spray to keep mosquitoes away, and the other one was for cleaning tubs.  That one called for cleaning vinegar, which I  had never heard of!  But there really is such a thing.

I drove through some heavy rain on the way home.  I thought we would have a nice amount here, but it barely registered on the rain gauge.  I talked to Kathy later and she said they had about .8" with some hail.  I guess they had some hail in Canby too.  The temperature dropped from 92 to 70 on the way home!  That's kind of scary.

So we ate our Chinese, and then I mentioned going to the movie in town.  Much to my surprise, Orrin got ready to do that!  He rarely goes to the movies, he much prefers to watch them on the tv from his recliner..lol. We saw "Spy" with Melissa McCarthy.  It was pretty funny, kind of far out there, with lots of bad language, so I wouldn't recommend it for young children.   It was just fun to go to the theater once, and  like to support the new theater.  And of course, you can't go to a movie without popcorn and pop!  Since we had a big supper, we brought half the popcorn home with us.

And now Orrin is already in bed, and I'm thinking that's a good idea.  Have a nice evening and we'll see you same time, same place, tomorrow.  (Maybe earlier, as we're going out for supper)

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

June 8-9, 2015

Okay, I'm kinda skating in on Monday into Tuesday here.  Long story, but I'll make it a short one.  I was just relaxing tonight, watching the MLB draft pick for our niece's son (more below) when Arlys called to ask if I'd forgotten club tonight! Yes, I had and so had Audrey and Darlyne!  Can't believe it, I don't know what I was thinking.  Anyway, talked to Darlyne, and she said she'd pick me up as soon as she got ready.  I hurried and got ready too, and we did make it to Janet's by 8:30.  Plenty of time for dessert and cards and good fun!  It wasn't our regular Monday, but that was no excuse, I had it in my date book and still forgot!  So I got home a little bit ago, which explains why this is getting done so late.

Tonight was the MLB draft, and Carisa's son (Wayne's grandson) was on the list.  Information below.  There's a video at the MLB.com site as well.  So excited for him, that's quite an honor for a high school graduate.  We sure wish him the best.  He was picked #69 by the Washington Nationals.

Thought to be the best high school player in the state of Arizona heading into the 2015 season, the toolsy Perkins hasn't disappointed, with the outfielder having a solid senior campaign to put him in top five round consideration. A right-handed hitting center fielder, Perkins is a lean, wiry and athletic athlete with raw tools and room to add strength. He has some bat speed and strike zone knowledge, with that added strength, along with better positioning of his hands, allowing him to be a more dangerous hitter in the future. There could be some power there to come as well. Perkins is a plus runner who likes to runs the bases well and covers a lot of ground in the outfield, one who can stick in center field with an average arm. There is some upside with Perkins and the team that believes in that ceiling will take him and try to sign him away from his Arizona State commitment.

Not too much else to report.  I filled the feeders, and we took a walk.  It got quite hot, so didn't take a very long one.  Orrin had  his checkup today, with bloodwork.  All the numbers were good, so it went well.

Enjoyed the pictures of Cami's graduation party, too.  Looks like a good time.

And I think I'll call it a night (morning?)
Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

June 7, 2015 Sarah's birthday!

I was going to post last night but in thinking over the day I couldn't come up with one interesting thing.  Laundry? Dishes? Starting a walk and getting sprinkled on? So I left it.  I woke up around 2 am and then couldn't get back to sleep until 5.  Not good.

This morning was better.  We went to early church (I warned Orrin that I might fall asleep in church since my night was so bad) but I did make it through just fine.  Very good sermon.  Also, we burned the church mortgage.  I don't think we'd ever been to one of those before.  After church there was a meeting in the fellowship hall to discuss the direction of the church.  Different things that needed to be done were listed, and then there was a longer discussion on starting a daycare.  Planning on building onto the school was part of that discussion as well.  Our president and treasurer and Pastor Janke did a very good job of presenting all this.  And it was very well attended.  Lots of good possibilities there.  It will be interesting to see how this will all play out.  All of it with God's direction and His plan, of course.

After church, Orrin and I had a regular dinner at Culver's, which was a nice change.  Then off to WallyWorld to pick up our prescriptions plus a few other things.  Teddy hasn't had his wet food all week since I forgot to pick some up.  So he was thrilled when he finally got some!  Then we had several things to pick up at Menard's.  Orrin needed a new pressure washer since his had given up the ghost on Saturday.  He found a really good deal on one.  I got a humungous bag of bird seed, these birds have turned out to be hungry!  LOL  After that we headed home.

Orrin had a couple things to do in the shop, and I had a nap I needed to take.  Hope I can sleep tonight now.  We really need to work on our sleep patterns.  I talked to Wendy on the way home and she said that Trey and Zoe were in SD and they were waiting for them to come for a visit today.  Hope that worked out.

Also saw on pictures that both the great-granddaughters were flower girls yesterday!  I knew they were going to be, just hadn't connected the dots on them being both on the same day.  Maria was flowergirl for her uncle Karl Madetzke, and Riley was flowergirl for her aunt Jen Hammerschmidt.  Not sure how a 1 yr. old flowergirl worked out but she was her godchild.  I remember we had Chris and Barb for our flowergirls and they were only 2!  Deb was my miniature bride at 4 and she kind of herded the other 2.  Lori was a baby, and David had just started walking.

Well, that's about it for tonight, hope you all had a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

Another lovely day!  Yesterday was a bit overcast in the morning, but turned out to be a wonderful afternoon and evening.  Ted and I took a short walk later in the day, while Orrin was mowing lawn.

Terry had called to say he was bringing over his tractor if Orrin had time to work on it.  After a little bit, Kathy called and asked what we were doing for supper.  Since I had just started thinking about it, I told her nothing.  She said I'll bring it over!  Which she did!  Orrin thought it was so nice we should eat outside, so he brought out the patio set, and I washed that off.  It was a lovely evening, he had sprayed for mosquitoes, so they didn't even bother.  Ted spotted a bunny, and took off after it, which was fun to watch!!  Of course, he didn't catch it, but made him happy anyway.  We were watching the birds, they're almost getting tame.  Kathy had brought a chicken dish, and I made strawberry shortcake for dessert.  I had an angel food in the freezer, and some strawberries in the freezer, too, so can't claim working too hard on that.

This morning I knew I had to find the hoops for my embroidery machine, I was supposed to go over to Watertown to have Mark help me get started on it again.  Well, I found everything else I needed, but could not find the hoops!!  Can't embroider without the hoops.  Right now the upstairs sewing room is scattered out over the hallway and bedroom, and I still didn't find them!  I had to cancel my trip to Watertown, and was just hot and bothered and depressed.  So I took a bath and then had a nap!  I still can't imagine where I put them. Someplace safe, I'm sure.  I'll just have to keep searching.  Grrrr. In my mind I see them in a flatter tote.  Now if I could just physically see them.

And that's it for tonight.
Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

June 3, 2015

Kind of a quiet day today.  I washed several loads of clothes and have a few to go yet.  My tummy was a little unsettled this morning, I think from the burger at the VFW last night.  Don't think I'll get that again.

It was raining when we got up, Orrin thought about .6".  The sun came out this afternoon, and warmed things up.  Actually a little rain on the flowers and lawn was a good thing.

And that's about it.  Have a good evening, Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Orrin

See the little birdies cleaning up on the ground?  Orrin said don't feed them until they do, but explained to him that it's a natural thing for them to be messy.  It's nice to open the door and hear them chirping.

June 2, 2015

Whew, it was a windy one today!  And a busy one, too.  This morning I  had book club at the library.  Our book this month was Wish You Well by David Baldacci.  Very different from his usual thriller, but we all agreed very good.  It was written in 2000, so not new, but I do recommend it.  Once I started it, I realized that I had read it before, but I enjoyed it a second time, too.

I stopped at Subway and got some subs for Orrin and I for lunch.  Arlys called and asked if I wanted to golf and I decided that it sounded like a good idea.  We went out on a very windy course, but it was fun.  My score was not good, but I had some good drives.  And considering I hadn't been out since 2013, it wasn't bad at all!  I can feel it in my back tonight, guess I need to get out there more.

This morning I saw a hummingbird!!  I was so excited, it was drinking out of the oriole feeder I'd put out.  Guess they like the same thing.  They had emptied out the feeder, so I went out and filled it again.  And by the time I got home from golf those greedy, hungry little things had emptied it again!  You can see in the picture that it's empty.

So I need to pick up some more juice.  We're really enjoying watching all the activity out there.  I saw a really pretty blue bird with orange belly and was surprised to find out it was a swallow!  I always think of them as being kind of bland.
Delores had called when I was on the way home, she was working with Hailey on a gown, and they were wanting to add bling.  I said I had a heat tool that did that, so they drove over.  Turned out it wasn't what Hailey had in mind, but we visited anyway.  I think they'll be making a road trip in the next few days to SF to see if they could find what she wanted.  Hope they can.

Well, it's been a long day and I'm tired.  Orrin is already in sleep mode.  I had some thoughts last night about identity, I'll share them another time.

Hugs, Orrin, Linda and Teddy

What a lovely day! I thought I'd better post this now, as I have craft club tonight and may not get to it later.

We made it to early church, and Miss Proeber had a short presentation about Chile, which is where she's going to teach this summer.  I told her she was a brave girl, please pray for her ministry.  Then we had our regular bible study, and finished 1 Peter.

After, we went and ate Chinese with some friends.  The Four Seasons in Watertown is always good.  But. . .one does tend to eat too much.  Then we headed home where I had big ambitions, but ended up taking a nap instead.  :(

This morning I got dressed right away, and Orrin asked where I was going!  I said, nowhere, but this way maybe I'll get busy right away, too. I picked Orrin up from town, he took the Cadillac in, the driver's window was stuck.

Ted and I did go for our walk, short to start with, I'll need to work up to it again.  I got the fan flowers planted that we picked up in Marshall on Saturday.  Then filled the bird feeders, the birds were getting a little worried, I think.  They did clean up some of the feed they dropped on the ground, though.

Then I did some stamping, to get some ready to color with the new watercolor brush markers tonight.  I need lots of practice!  I have craft club tonight as I said, so will take them along and work on them there.

Here's a picture of the pile of dead turkeys (composted, or whatever they do with them) which are smelly when you get close.  And another picture of the bird I colored.

The bushes are so pretty now.
